Nestling within the peaceful and gently undulating hillside of the estuaire de la Gironde you'll discover a treasure of a holiday retreat "French Vineyard Vacations". We'd like to think we naturally include everything that goes towards making this a really special holiday for everyone involved, so that it becomes a firm favourite amongst your holidays. By taking care of the smaller, as well as larger details – we’re hoping all you’re to left to think about is how to enjoy yourselves and have a good time. Whether that involves you relaxing by the pool and surrounding yourself with “soul food” or being more energetic, exploring or taking part in one of the many available activities in the surrounding area. Holiday Accommodation

French Vineyard Vacations holiday accommodation is located on a small family run vineyard and the acommodation comprises of two exclusive properties to ensure the number of guests is limited to only 10 people maximum. It is possible to adapt  the properties into one.

  • "La Grande Etouble" Stone farmhouse (Gite) which offers luxurious accommodation for 6 to 8 adults.
  • "Le Bourg Studio" offers cosy and romantic accommodation and sleeps 2 adults.

The holiday accommodation is located within the small village of St Ciers de Canesse, however our closest amenities can be found in the nearby village of Berson (2 kms). Here you’ll find the artisan Boulanger (Bakery) which is filled with the fresh aroma of warm, fresh baguettes and croissants for a typical French breakfast treat. This village also has a small supermarket, a Tabac (which doubles up as a bar) and a pharmacy etc. If you enjoy eating out, there's a really good selection of local restaurants, one even has live music on 3 evenings a week, in the summer season. Bourg-sur-Gironde (8 kms) has a farmers market on Sunday mornings and plenty of shops to wander around. The port of Blaye (5 kms) offers a wonderful artisan market, selling local fish, sea food and other locally grown produce or handmade crafts every Wednesday and Saturday mornings and also has a very good choice of supermarkets and shops.

Facilities available to guests:

The facilites provided in all rooms include most things you use at home. 

  • Pool and all surronding pool equipment and furniture etc.
  • Wi-Fi internet is available in most areas
  • Multi-lingual Satellite TV and DVD players+DVD’s (often remain unused)
  • A good supply of thick fluffy towels and clean, crispy white bedding (because you're worth it)
  • Washing machine in each propery ( for a lighter suitcase)

Bordeaux Wine Trail and Wine tasting

“Taste of Bordeaux wine trail” we offer bespoke wine tastings and tours to various chateaux within our region. There are over 11,000 vineyards and chateaux so there’s plenty to choose from including red, white, rose or a cremant (Bordeaux champagne). French Vineyard Vacation is ideally situated amongst the famous and prestigious wine trails of;

  • The world famous Appellation Of Cote (AOC) de Bordeaux
  • Cote de Bourg
  • Cote de Blaye
  • Saint Emillion
  • The Medoc (via a relaxing ferry ride)                                                                                                   

Cognac is less than a hour's drive away and a visit to a cognac distillery can also easily be arranged.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Gironde

The vast area of Bordeaux is also a classified UNESCO world heritage site, boasting 474 listed public buildings, 100 of which are grade 1 listed. Closer to home we have another UNESCO world heritage site which is only than 5 kms away, the Citadel of Blaye is a 17th century fortification designed by Sebastien Vauban. Other important and historic sites include the ruins of a large roman villa at Plessac which is about 3 kms. 

Gironde Estuary and Atlantic Ocean Activities

Also with the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic ocean close by this holiday experience also offers plenty of leisure activities for suit everyone. Briefly these include : fishing, jet skiing, kite surfing, wind surfing, surfing, sailing, boat trips, cycling, walking, bird watching, golf, tennis, horse riding and there's so many different things to draw, paint of photograph you'll find you are spoilt for choice. Other excursions could include visits to the nearby lac de Moulin Blance or to the golden sandy beaches of the Atlantic ocean which are easily reached by a short enjoyable boat trip on the Blaye ferry. There’s also Europe's largest sand dune - the Dune du Pilat which is well worth a visit. Alternatively by heading northwards  you can discover to the glorious beaches of the Charente-Maritime such as Meschers-sur-Gironde, Royan, La Rochelle and of course, in many people's opinion's the jewel of the Atlantic coastline - the Ile de Ré.
